Leadership

Cas Atchison, President

Throughout his twelve-year career, Cas Atchison, CPL has been valued for his hard work, managerial, and negotiation skills. His leadership, work ethic, and capability to build solid teams and maintain strong professional relationships are what set him apart. Cas prides himself on his ability to negotiate in a win-win fashion, manage effective teams, increase project value, and most importantly improve the client’s bottom line.

After graduating from St. Edward’s University with a BA in Finance, Cas began his career as a field landman with Maddison Minerals in 2003. Working with Clint “Butch” Hendrickson for the first 6 years of his career gave Cas the necessary skills to begin Synergy Land & Minerals, LLC in January 2011. Cas and his teams have run title, negotiated, performed due diligence, and curative on over 250,000 acres in over 25 counties in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, West Virginia, Colorado, and Oklahoma. Cas has been involved in over $750,000,000 of acquisitions and/or divestitures in land, production, and/or mineral/royalty deals.  Cas’ involvement in the land services industry for over a decade has help him create an extensive network of operators, landmen, attorneys, land owners, mineral/royalty owners, private equity groups, bankers, and other key oil and gas industry personnel.

Due to the successes of Synergy Land & Minerals, on behalf of his clients, Cas has gained the trust and repeat business of those clients.  During his career, Cas has worked with independent, mid-major, and major oil and gas exploration companies, midstream companies, law firms (estate planning & oil and gas attorneys), banks (estate/trust, oil and gas, & personal wealth management departments), trust companies, hedge funds, equity groups, municipalities, alternative energy companies, & mineral/royalty acquisitions funds/companies.

Cas received the designation of Certified Professional Landman (CPL), the highest industry certification/designation for a landman, in 2015 and is currently working on his Certified Mineral Manager (CMM) designation.  He is the Executive Vice-President of the Young Professionals in Energy (Austin) (YPE Austin), the Oil, Gas and Mineral Specialist committee member for the St. Edward’s Gift Planning Advisory Committee (GPAC), a board member of the Austin Petroleum and Exploration Society, an active member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen (AAPL), The Austin Professional Landmen’s Association (APLA), and The San Antonio Association of Professional Landmen (SAPL).
